Which questions belong on a service business FAQ page?

Choose useful FAQ questions from customer decisions, keep essential answers on service pages, and avoid a catch-all page full of vague sales copy.

An FAQ page should reduce uncertainty that remains after someone reads about your services. It should not become a storage area for information that belongs beside the offer, price, or contact button.

Start with actual questions from prospective customers. Separate questions that apply to the entire business from questions specific to one service.

Keep essential buying facts near the service

If customers need to know whether a service is offered, put the answer on that service page. If a minimum charge applies, do not hide it exclusively in an FAQ. The FAQ can reinforce those details and link to the full explanation.

Company-wide questions may include how estimates are arranged, which contact method to use, whether appointments are required, and how to prepare information for a new inquiry. Verify every answer with the person responsible for the process.

Write the question people actually ask

“Do I need to be home during the appointment?” is clearer than “How do we deliver unmatched convenience?” The first sentence should answer directly, followed by conditions or exceptions.

An illustrative answer might begin: “An adult needs to be present for the initial walkthrough; later access arrangements are agreed during scheduling.” Only use that wording if it describes your business. Do not borrow procedures merely because they make a plausible answer.

Handle variable answers without becoming vague

For pricing or timing, explain what changes the answer and what information the team needs. “It depends” is a starting point, not a complete response. Name the factors and link to the relevant estimate process.

If a question requires several steps, give the short answer and link to a resource article. The customer-question content plan helps decide when a standalone guide is justified.

Make answers easy to browse

Group related questions under plain headings such as Estimates, Scheduling, and Preparation. If using expandable answers, test keyboard operation and ensure the controls clearly indicate whether the answer is open.

Do not make customers open a series of panels to find your phone number. Keep direct contact information visible and provide a link to the contact page for situations the FAQ does not cover.

Review for contradictions

Compare the FAQ with service pages, forms, confirmation messages, and policies. A change in scheduling procedure can leave several versions of the answer online. Assign one owner to verify the shared facts.

After publishing, ask staff whether they can use the answers in customer replies without adding corrections. If not, improve the content. A useful FAQ is a maintained explanation of how the business works, not a list of keywords arranged as questions.
